As part of the Men of League Foundations initiatives to promote awareness towards issues in rural Australia with a special focus on rugby league, Jason accompanied the Foundation to Western NSW to document the Tackling the Drought Tour. Former national rugby league players featured in the resulting series of three videos which were premiered on the Foundation's website.
The leg of the tour that Jason was responsible for documenting travelled through Narromine, Gilgandra and Mudgee, each of which is highlighted in the short films below.
Documenting the initial leg of the tour, passing through Dubbo and Narromine and featuring a performance by Denis Carnahan.
The second day of the tour begins with a Rugby League clinic for young up-and-coming rural stars and then passes through Collie where Mark Tompson recites his emotionally charged bush poetry.
The tour closes in Mudgee mingling with the locals and showing support for hard times.
Jason was also responsible for crafting still images for the Foundation which were posted on the social media channels during the ongoing tour. Highlights from the tour are included below
